Relax or meditate to absorb and appreciate the beauty and peace of the magical Shambhala Gardens.
Education during the day’s activities will include some of the following - plant identification, weed identification, pest id and control, propagation techniques, gardening in the sub tropics, soils, composting and other gardening information as well as information on the large crystals and statues that are placed within the garden.
Duties may include some of the following:
• Maintenance of garden beds
• Weed eradication
• Mulching
• Pruning
• Planting
• Fertilising
• Soil amelioration
• Composting
• Propagation
• Plant thinning
• Maintenance of landscape features
• Watering
• Clearing
• Potting
• Nursery maintenance
• General garden duties
• Shovelling, lifting, and forking
Each participant is required to wear appropriate PPE which includes hat, work boots, long pants, and long sleeves if very sun sensitive, good garden gloves and a rain coat in wet weather. Also a water bottle, sunscreen and insect repellent are recommended.
